Buick Service Tasks to Get Ready for Spring

Ready for flowers, sunshine, and spring? Us too! Is your vehicle ready? While maintenance at Serra Buick GMC Champaign is important year-round, there are a few extra Buick service tasks we recommend you complete now that spring is here.

Give it a Good Wash

With the weather starting to warm up, it’s time to get rid of any last remnants of winter. Our cars go through a lot during our winter months, trekking through icy and snowy streets.

While salt on the roads is great for helping to keep us safe, it’s not so great on our cars. Make sure you visit a carwash to help keep your exterior protected. Don’t forget to clean your cabin too.

Replace Your Windshield Wipers

Windshield wipers are often working overtime in the winter to clear snow and ice. Plus, cold weather can cause your windshield wiper blades to become brittle and break. This is an opportune time to switch out your windshield wipers.

Naturally, we’re going to need them working their best for our rainy spring season as well. While you’re at it, double-check that your windshield wiper fluid is full too.

Check Your Tires

After driving on slick terrains, do your tires still have enough tread? You need adequate tread for traction on the road. Tires need at least 4/32 of an inch of tread for your safety.

You can quickly measure your tread depth by placing a quarter into the shallowest tread groove, with Washington’s head pointed downward. If you can see the top of his head once you touch the bottom, it’s time to replace your tires.
